Joyce Vance:
From CAFE and Vox Media Podcast Network, welcome to CAFE Insider. I’m Joyce Vance. With me today is Maya Wiley, who is filling in for Preet. Preet is out at the Code Conference in California. Maya is a good friend and the president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Over the course of her very distinguished career, she served as the first Black woman to be counsel to the mayor of New York City, chair of the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board, and she spent time in the civil division of the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Maya was my colleague as a legal analyst for MSNBC. She was also a candidate for New York City mayor in 2021. Maya, I’m not really sure what you haven’t done but welcome to the show. I’m awfully glad to have you with me this week.
Maya Wiley:
Well, Joyce, I’m so glad to be with you and maybe the answer to your question about what I haven’t done is held down a lot of jobs for a very long time.
