CAFE INSIDER BASICS
When you sign up, your payment method (PayPal for example) will be verified. This verification may be shown on your account as a temporary charge, generally for $1.00. Unless you have been a member before, you will not be charged for the full cost of the membership until the end of any applicable free trial. If you’d like to update your payment method, here is how.
Please note that ad blockers and privacy extensions may interfere with the site’s registration functionality.
Members can listen to the exclusive Insider audio content, including the flagship Insider podcast and bonus content from Stay Tuned with Preet in your favorite app or on the site. Here is the schedule, which may change from time to time.
If you prefer an app, a unique feed will automatically be created for you, allowing you to listen in Apple Podcasts and many other apps. (Unfortunately, some third party apps, including Spotify and Stitcher, do not allow feeds to be added manually at this time. We will update members when this changes.)

How is CAFE Insider different from CAFE?
CAFE Insider helps members to make sense of news and issues at the intersection of law, politics, and justice. In addition to the free content on cafe.com, members receive access to exclusive content including podcasts, a newsletter and more.
How do I sign up for CAFE Insider?
You can become a member of Insider by visiting cafe.com/insider and choosing one of our membership options.
Will my subscription auto-renew?
To ensure uninterrupted access to CAFE Insider, memberships are set to automatically renew at the end of the selected term. Unless otherwise noted, discounts on annual memberships apply to the first year.
Can I give a CAFE Insider membership as a gift?
To help your friends make sense of law and politics, please visit the gift membership page. Please note that you must sign in to your account, or create an account, to give a gift. The annual gift memberships will not renew for a second year.
If your gift recipient has not received a redemption email, please have them check their junk, promotion or spam folders.

Can I upgrade from a monthly membership to an annual membership?
If you are currently a monthly member, please visit the My Account section of the site and choose the Membership tab. Follow the prompts after selecting the Upgrade option. Your annual membership will begin at the conclusion of your current month.
How do I add a new or switch my payment method?
Click here for instructions with screenshots. If you have two payment methods available and want to switch, visit the Membership tab in My Account, click Manage and then ‘Update renewal payment method.’ On mobile devices, the ‘Manage’ button is replaced by three vertical dots. Please remember that there must always be a payment method associated with an active membership.
Please Login to the My Account section of Insider, and select the Membership tab. Then tap ‘Manage.’ On mobile devices, the ‘Manage’ button is replaced by three vertical dots. Tap on ‘Update renewal payment method’ and select ‘Add a new card’ or ‘Add PayPal’ in the top right. Once added, you may now select the new payment method within this screen.
If you have two payment methods available (when you visit the Membership tab and click Manage [or the button with three vertical dots] and then ‘Update renewal payment method’) then you may switch between the two.
If you would like to delete your old credit card or PayPal account, please visit the Card tab within the My Account section and click on the trash can symbol next to the old form of payment. If you have two payment methods available and want to switch, visit the Membership tab, click Manage and then ‘Update renewal payment method.’ On mobile devices, the Manage button is replaced by three vertical dots. When is the CAFE Insider Podcast released?
While the news cycle may affect release times, there will generally be a new episode released every Tuesday by 8pm ET.
Can I listen to CAFE Insider audio content in my favorite app?
Once you join, you may manually add your unique feed to your favorite podcast app. Here are instructions.
Alternately you may sign in and visit the My Account section of the site. Here you will find the Podcast Link just under the words ‘My Account.’ Click on the link to copy it to your clipboard. Then paste the link into the ‘Add URL’ field of your favorite podcast app.
And members can always continue to stream the CAFE Insider Podcast on the site via desktop or mobile.
Can I Create a Shortcut to the Insider Audio Feed on my phone’s home screen?
Yes! If on an iPhone, start by navigating via Safari to the Insider Audio Feed and log in.
Tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen (a box with an arrow pointing up). Scroll through options on the bottom and tap ‘Add to Home Screen.’
Name your shortcut CAFE Insider. Tap ‘Add’ and you should now have a shortcut on your phone’s home screen that looks like any other app. Visit regularly to keep up on all that CAFE Insider has to offer.
Note: if Safari requires sign in each time you visit, please go to your phone’s Settings, choose Safari and scroll down to ‘Clear History and Website Data.’ The next time you login, make sure to choose ‘Stay Logged In.’ Please be aware that this will clear data related to other sites you visit as well.
How do I get the weekly newsletter which features a note from Preet?
The newsletter is sent every Thursday to the email address associated with your account. If you have not received a newsletter, please make sure that Insider emails are not being filtered into your junk, promotion, or spam email folders.
SIGNING UP AND SIGNING IN
How do I sign up for CAFE Insider?
Please make sure ad blockers and privacy extensions are disabled while visiting cafe.com and cafe.com/insider, and allow our registration software ‘Tinypass’ and ‘Piano’ to serve content on the site. We do not serve advertising or sell data, but we have found that ad blockers and privacy extensions can interfere with the process of signing up for, and signing into, Insider.
Please visit cafe.com and tap JOIN INSIDER at the top of your screen. If you previously created an account with CAFE, please log in with your email address and password.

How should I sign in to CAFE Insider?

Visit cafe.com and tap LOGIN at the top of your screen.

Can current students get a special Insider membership rate?
Yes, you can sign up here. Student members have full access to Insider. Please note that these rates are exclusively for current students with a valid .edu email address.
Is there a family membership available?
We will be offering a special rate for families in the future. Please sign up for updates at cafe.com/preet.
What if I am having trouble resetting my password?
After tapping LOGIN, choose the ‘I FORGOT MY PASSWORD’ link. Once you input the email address associated with your account, you will receive a password reset link in an email. Please make sure that Insider emails are not being filtered into your junk, promotion, or spam email folders.
Please make sure ad blockers are disabled. Click on the link in the password reset email, and create a new password.
If you are having trouble, please copy the password reset link and paste it into a ‘Private Window’ in Safari or an ‘Incognito Window’ in Chrome.

Is my payment information secure?
CAFE Insider uses Braintree for payment processing. Via Braintree, we accept major credit cards and PayPal. CAFE Insider does not hold your credit card information. Your information is encrypted and stored by Braintree. Braintree is a division of the public company, PayPal. Click here to learn more about Braintree.
Please note that if you pay with PayPal, there will be a verification shown on your account, but you will not actually be charged for your membership until the end of your free trial, if applicable.
What if I receive an error message or cannot complete my transaction for other reasons?

How do I cancel my membership to CAFE Insider?
Please visit the My Account section of Insider to cancel your membership. Choose the ‘Membership’ tab and click ‘Manage.’ If you cancel, you will still have access to Insider for the remainder of your membership period. We do not offer partial refunds.
