Dear Reader,

Last Friday, James Comer, the Republican Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced that he had finally found what he had been looking for – evidence of corruption on the part of Joe Biden. Comer made a video that he posted on the Committee’s Twitter account, saying they had proof of a payment of $200,000 made to the President from his brother James. Comer said the payment raised “new questions” about “how President Biden personally benefited from his family’s shady influence peddling of his last name and their access to him.”

A subsequent tweet showed a check dated March 1, 2018. After stretching to make allegations of wrongdoing about the source of the funds James Biden used, Comer said that even if the check was “some sort of loan repayment,” it showed that Biden’s brother had to get a payment from someone else before he could repay the loan his brother made to him.

That doesn’t seem particularly remarkable. But, it was where Comer’s energy was focused – although the House was at the end of week two without a Speaker. Comer promised that there was more to come.
