The January 6th Committee, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Jared Kushner are making headlines this week.

In this sample from the CAFE Insider podcast, Preet and Joyce break down reports indicating that the Department of Justice is expanding the January 6th investigations to include people who funded and planned that day’s events. They also discuss the likelihood that Garland feels pressure from the Committee to intensify investigations.

In the full episode, Preet and Joyce discuss:

  • The utility of a criminal referral from the January 6th Committee to DOJ about former President Donald Trump;
  • The forthcoming House vote on whether to hold former Trump aides Dan Scavino & Peter Navarro in contempt for defying Committee subpoenas;
  • The Committee’s recent meeting with Jared Kushner; and
  • The reports indicating that the Committee will not issue subpoenas to members of Congress.
