Elie Honig:

From CAFE and the Vox Media Podcast Network, this is the latest installment of the second weekly episode of the CAFE Insider podcast. I’m your host, Elie Honig. Now, this week we’ll be focusing on Vice President Kamala Harris and her record as a prosecutor. Before she was the Vice President of the United States and before she was a U.S. Senator, she was the District Attorney for San Francisco, and then she was the Attorney General for the state of California where she rose to the ranks to become the political figure we know today.

I’m joined today by Marisa Lagos to break down the Vice president’s prosecutorial record and a few of her most notable cases and policies. Marisa is a correspondent for KQED’s California Politics & Government Desk, and she co-hosts the weekly podcast Political Breakdown. She’s a longtime political journalist and she’s covered California politics for the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Los Angeles Times. Marisa, thank you for joining us.
