This season follows the rise and fall of a faction of the famed Genovese crime family. Set in Springfield, Massachusetts, it’s a riveting tale of turf wars, escalating violence, and betrayal, culminating in the shocking murder of Springfield mob boss Al Bruno. The killer’s identity was a complete mystery, but for law enforcement, also a huge opportunity. Solving the case was the investigators’ best chance at taking down the Springfield mafia — once and for all. 

Up Against the Mob is hosted by Elie Honig, a former federal prosecutor and chief of organized crime at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Honig tells the inside story of the murder investigation and gives his personal insights on dismantling organized crime.
